A-State Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Maridoe Intercollegiate
CARROLLTON, Texas (10/8/19) – The Arkansas State men’s golf team claimed a top-five finish at the Maridoe Intercollegiate after shooting a third-round 309 (+21) to claim fifth place Tuesday at Maridoe Golf Club.
Three top-25 ranked squads from the Bushnell Coaches Poll were in the field with No. 18 SMU taking top team honors with a total of 882 (+18). No. 11 Texas A&M finished tied for second with a total of 906 (+42) while No. 8 Washington finished eighth at 914 (+50). A-State finished fifth at 909 (+45), one stroke behind host North Texas and one stroke ahead of both New Mexico and Little Rock.
Senior Julien Sale paced A-State as he finished tied for eighth with a total of 223 (+7). Sophomore Luka Naglic tied for 18th place totaling 227 (+11) with sophomore Jack Madden one stroke behind (+12) for a tie for 20th place. Senior Zan Luka Stirn posted a total of 235 (+19) to place 48th and freshman Adam Thorp placed tied for 52nd with a score of 237 (+21).
